Bought new in 2103, this MINI came as a very well spec’d Countryman SD. It had Lohen’s usual “comfort period” where nothing was done in terms of modifications but speculation continued throughout the team as to what Andrey would do first. Eventually, a set of Eibach Lowering Springs was ordered and the transformation started.
A JCW body kit was sent to the body shop to be colour-coded then an AP Racing brake upgrade and finally a set of O.Z. Superturismo LM wheels to finish everything off.
Next on the upgrade list was a set of Bilstein B6 dampers that come with the Bilstein B12 damper and spring kit. The combination of Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs gave the Countryman firm, sporty handling that was controlled and much improved over standard, gone was the crashy harsh ride that the standard Countryman suffered from when hitting potholes and large bumps.
Now, Lohen's MINI R60 Countryman not only looked great and stopped well, it handled great too. So now, all the 4 wheel drive MINI was longing for was more power, the 2 litre Diesel engine was not slow, but definitely lacked the extra oomph Lohen are used to when tuning MINI's. Thankfully after becoming a Superchips dealer, Superchips was able to personally tweak our Countryman to get an extra 'xx bhp' and 'xx Nm of torque' from the engine making it pull much harder in every gear improving its drivability for easier overtaking.
