MINI Crate Engine - N14
A genuine MINI short engine. The engine is supplied bare without any ancillaries fitted for example - it's not supplied with turbo, water pump or fuel pump to name a few.
This is suitable for all standard MINI Cooper S or John Cooper Works vehicles (please select the appropriate option from the drop down for your model.
The piston compression ratio is 10.5:1 for the Cooper S specification and 10:1 for John Cooper Works specification
All internals are standard MINI products.
The engine is supplied without a surcharge.

The Genuine MINI engine is supplied assembled, time but free of oil. The crate engine is assembled by MINI with the following components:
- Pistons & pistons rings
- Standard connecting rods
- Standard Bolts
- Standard engine bearings
- Standard valvetrain
- Timing chain kit
- Full gasket kit
- Rocker cover
- Oil pump
Lohen offers professional, in-house fitting for all products at our workshop in Eccleshall, Staffordshire. Here are the important things you need to know:
Fitting Cost - £1500. Includes installation and running on the dyno.
Fitting Time - 20 hours
Required Additional Items/Services - N14 Engine Installation kit is suggested when installing a Lohen Crate Engine. Lohen Recommends - Inspecting clutch and flywheel operation while the engine and gearbox are out and replacing them as necessary. It's also an ideal time to add a differential for a performance upgrade. Consider the Quaife ATB for road and track day use or the 3J Driveline LSD for track specific work. It is also worth considering silicon hoses for the coolant and boost systems while installing the engine.
